Located in the majestic Mary River National Park Wetlands of the Northern Territory, Wildman Wilderness Lodge is an unforgettable experience, its teeming wildlife and unique tours a world far removed from your own, yet with all the modern comforts of great accommodation, delicious meals and wine to enjoy at the end of each day.

Wildman Wilderness Lodge comprises of a central lodge, 10 air-conditioned cabins (‘Habitats’) and 15 Safari Tents. Both Options feature an en-suite bathroom and stylish finishes to create accommodation with a touch of luxury in an awe-inspiring environment.

Inherent in the Wildman experience is the wildlife, with crocodile and birdlife spotting a daily occurrence. A variety of tours are offered to make the most of your stay with tailored, private tours available on request. The Mary River Wetlands are teeming with life. With a naturally occurring billabong that’s home to hundreds of species of birds and animals, this exquisite scenery and unique biodiversity will stay with you forever.

Located approximately half way between Darwin and Kakadu, 170km by road from the Darwin City. Drive time from Darwin is less than two hours, along the sealed Arnhem Highway.

The Lodge is located on the beautiful Mary River Wetlands and surrounded by a seasonal floodplain, year round naturally occurring billabong and natural habitat for hundreds of species of birds and animals.

    Safari Tent
    An alternative option for those who seek a bit more adventure (needless to say, in style), this truly luxe ‘camping’ experience is a premium offering. Each fan-cooled tent is surprisingly spacious at 50m2 and comes complete with en suite bathroom. Natural colors and materials from the region have been utilized and reflect the surrounding environment, the entire experience providing a grounded closeness to the wilderness with all the romance of the ultimate hideaway.

    Things To Do


    Mary River Wetland Tours: Glide over the reeds and lilies of the Mary River floodplain on a Wetlands Airboat Safari. On this ride you will be able to view wetland birds, crocodiles, and maybe even a water buffalo in their natural habitats. If airboats don’t float your fancy, the Mary River Rockhole Cruise provides the same spectacular sights, however on a different mode of transportation. If you would like to experience the wetlands from the sky, the Scenic Wetland Flight soars over the Mary River Floodplain, giving a different perspective of the life and landscape underneath you.

    Full-Day Kakadu Tour:
     This action-packed day begins with a picturesque drive down the famous Arnhem Highway to Kakadu National Park – a World Heritage National Park. Here you will visit Ubirr Rock, known for its Aboriginal rock art. Unwind with a picnic along the banks of the East Alligator River and wander to the Cahills to see a crocodile up close. Mamukala observation platform is the final stop of the tour, providing panoramic views of the surrounding wetlands.

    Culture Walk:
    Stroll through Brain Creek, a monsoon rainforest that greatly differs from the surrounding woodlands of the region. As some of the oldest bush lands in Australia, Brain Creek allows tour guides to provide a native learning experience for the visitors about the wildlife that inhabit the land.

    Home Billabong Cruise: Leaving from the Wildman Central Lodge, this tour offers a fascinating look at the region. Insightful guides teach you about this flourishing ecosystem and the creatures that reside there.

    Leichhardt Point Sundowners
    : There is no better way to end a day than watching a beautiful sunset. Venture through the forest to Leichhardt Point and enjoy provided refreshments while watching the day go from dusk to dark behind the Australian wetlands.

    Animal Totems: Stroll around the Wildman Wilderness Lodge on this free self-guided walking tour. As you follow the map, each totem represents one of the top 10 animals you can regularly see on your adventure through the wetlands.

    Infinity Pool: The infinity pool brings you one step closer to nature as you enjoy a revitalizing swim in a picturesque landscape

    Fish at Shady Camp: Bait your hook as you embark on a guided tour to the place where salt and fresh water meet. Compete with the crocodiles as you cast your rods for either a half day or full day experience on the water among the local flora and fauna.
